"MMMMMMM... That's Good!" - A New Warmup

A new Vocal Tip video for ya. I share a new warmup that I recently began using with my singers due to the epidemic of jaw tension that folks are experiencing now (who wouldn't with the constant craziness we're seeing around us nowadays?). "MMMMMN... that's good!" - it's really been helpful for my clients so I decided to share. 🎙️🗣️🎵 #MusicIsTheSacredArt #voicelessons #vocaltraining #vocaltechnique #vocalwarmup

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!! Arms Around Me (lyric video)

As Pride Month 2026 comes to a close, I decided to share one of my favorite releases to date. “Arms Around Me” is the third track on my album “ME- Vol 1”. A funky love song. It's the hopeless gay romantic in me coming out. Written, produced, arranged, and performed by ME. ❤️🎙️🎶🏳️‍🌈🎹

Using the Pharyngeal 'AGH' Sound to Combat a Depressed Larynx

Today's Vocal Tip clip deals with the opposite issue of the previous video about using the hooty 'OO' to combat a high larynx. This time, the focus is on releasing a depressed larynx caused by a retracted tongue. The witchy pharyngeal 'AGH' is our tool of choice. The exaggeration is temporary and the goal is to be able to get a more natural balanced laryngeal position. Enjoy the wackiness of making the ugly sound - we all need fun nowadays. 🎙️🗣️🎵🎹 #trainingthevocalathlete #vocaltechnique #vocaltraining #voicelessons #voicelessons

Hooty 'OO' to Combat Singing with a High Larynx

Do you find that your larynx hikes up a lot as you climb in pitch? Well, this new Vocal Tip is for you. We can use a hooty 'OO' vowel to allow the voice box to lower naturally without pushing it down with the base of the tongue. Play around with this exercise and see how your voice responds. 🎙️🗣️🎵 #voicelessons #vocaltraining #vocaltechnique #singers #vocalcoach To book virtual voice lessons, contact me at earlharvillevox@gmail.com, earlvoxstudio.com, or (219) 269-0346. Pre-teaching Vocal Warmup

Here is a look into my vocal warmup routine on an average day of teaching and practice. I'm working from the presumption that I have slept well, have adequately hydrated, and am basically healthy physically. I will post a video of physical stretches that precede the vocalizing separately. #vocaltechnique #voicelessons #vocaltraining #EarlVOXStudio #vocalhealth

Laughing and Crying to Establish Breath Support? Why, YES!!

In today's new Vocal Tip, we will laugh and cry ourselves into a greater awareness of what muscular engagement feels like in our torso (i.e. support) as we warm up the voice. 🎙️🗣️🎵🎼 #vocaltips #voicelessons #vocaltraining #vocaltechnique #trainingthevocalathlete #voiceteacher4life #EarlVOXStudio #Blackmusiceducator #blackvocalcoach #gayvocalcoach #singers #voiceusers #actors #sing4yourlife #bassbaritone #MusicIsTheSacredArt

You're The One (A Cappella)

"You're The One (A Cappella)" - I decided to release this vocals-only version of the opening track from my 2019 album "ME-Vol1". This song just makes me happy and it's 2024, so all the happiness we can get should be shared. It's actually been available on my Bandcamp page and YouTube for a while but it will now be on all streaming platforms as well as iTunes, Amazon Music, and earlharvillemuzic.com.

"DESIRE"

Hey all,

It's good to be back to blogging. It has been quite a while since I've done it consistently.

Let's talk new music. I have released my first single of 2024 entitled “Desire”. Written, produced, arranged ,and performed by yours truly. It's currently available on all major streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube Music, and Tidal. Downloads can be purchased on iTunes, Bandcamp, and Amazon Music.

I wrote this slow jam back in 2011 and shot a live performance of it in January 2012 while on winter vacation. I began recording the track in 2017 and wrapped up final overdubs in late 2023. It is another track from my forthcoming album “ME- Vol 2”. It's simply a song of romantic and intimate longing of one man for another. It's gay romantic in me.

Enjoy…..and be on the lookout for the next single dropping this fall.
