Today's Vocal Tip clip deals with the opposite issue of the previous video about using the hooty 'OO' to combat a high larynx. This time, the focus is on releasing a depressed larynx caused by a retracted tongue. The witchy pharyngeal 'AGH' is our tool of choice. The exaggeration is temporary and the goal is to be able to get a more natural balanced laryngeal position. In today's mini-lesson I deal with one of my favorite SOTV exercises - The Buzzy 'V'. So easy to execute but so very efficient. I use it with students who struggle with the lip trill but find it to be great for all singers. Not only great as a warm-up but for a vocal cool down as well. Try it out. 🎙️🗣️🎵🎼🎹

It's good to be back to blogging. It has been quite a while since I've done it consistently. 

Let's talk new music. I have released my first single of 2024 entitled “Desire”. Written, produced, arranged ,and performed by yours truly. It's currently available on all major streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube Music, and Tidal. Downloads can be purchased on iTunes, Bandcamp, and Amazon Music. 

I wrote this slow jam back in 2011 and shot a live performance of it in January 2012 while on winter vacation. I began recording the track in 2017 and wrapped up final overdubs in late 2023. It is another track from my forthcoming album “ME- Vol 2”. It's simply a song of romantic and intimate longing of one man for another. It's gay romantic in me.
